The Nigeria air force has commended the media for the patriotic and robust treatment of issues affecting the nation and people.
The director of public relations and information of the Nigerian air force, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola gave the commendation during a visit to the news directorate of DAAR communications plc as part of his familiarization tour of media house across the country.The Nigerian Airforce has continued to play a very key role in the ongoing war against the Boko Haram insurgents by providing the much needed air logistics power support which is one of its core functions.
Authorities of the service say they realise the importance of credible and timely intelligence gathering in modern warfare and information dissemination to members of the civil populace hence the visit by the newly appointed director of public relations and information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola to the cooperate headquarters of DAAR communications plc Air Commodore Daramola explained that it was the expectation of the chief of the air staff, Air Marshal Sadeeq Abubakar, that service maintains a robust working relationship with the media in the quest for national and sub-regional stability.
The executive director, DAAR news services, Imoni Amarere, who led other top news management staff to receive the team, commended the Nigerian Airforce and other armed services for their nationalist’s and patriotic roles.
The DAAR news managers and directors however appealed to the new air force spokesperson to ensure quick responses to emerging and developing national issues to help check the spread of fake news.
