NYSC Penalties Decision: Davido Abandoned Orientation Camp For US Musical Tour

The fear most people had, that Davido, the OBO crooner’s involvement with the National Youth Service Corps was a publicity stunt, appears to be materializing as report has it the singer has abandoned Youth Camp for a music
tour in United State of America. Penultimate weekend, it was in the media that Davido visited the NYSC orientation camp at Iyana-Ipaja to complete his registration. But a forty-eight hour later to the surprise of other Corps members, the singer is on his way to Boston for his ‘Locked Up’ tour of the United States of America.

Nevertheless, the general rule of the Corps stated that all NYSC members are expected to be present at the camp during the three weeks’ orientation programme, without any form of exception. What’s happening in Davido’s case? Davido’s NYSC colleagues at the orientation ground are wondering if the law will be bent or allowed to take it full impact in the matter.

(iii) When absent from his duties on account of illness ensure that such absence is covered by an “Excuse Duty Certificate” issued by a medical doctor then on duty at the camp.”

Davido breaks The Bye-laws also state penalties for leaving the camp without the permission of the State Director.

According to Schedule 2: 1b states that:
“The following penalties shall be imposed in the following circumstances.
